The project “GOLD QUALITY” 874882 is for promotion of European basket of PDO/PGI and Organic Products in third countries (USA).
The project was submitted on 16.04.2019 for finance, according to the provisions of the CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR MULTI PROGRAMMES 2019 – PROMOTION OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS.
About the Project
Food and gastronomic tradition is the best and most direct way to learn more about a place, its culture, its customs and traditions; that is why, the rich and fertile European land, always cultivated with a focus on the excellent quality of the final product, has always generously offered to its inhabitants and not only, a treasure full of wonderful flavors that made it internationally famous and that united people and cultures.
Each European region is distinguished for its great tradition of cheese and olive oil, as well as for the specific know-how production of many other delicious organic and PDO/PGI foodstuffs that constitute the European gastronomic map , whose products stand out for their quality, high production and food safety standards , and their incomparable taste. Such region with a very rich tradition from antiquity is the region of Crete, a blessed place, with fertile soils, ideal climatic conditions, and traditional know-how that give the products of Cretan land their unique quality and taste.
PDO-PGI extra virgin olive oil, coming directly from the Cretan olive groves, internationally known for its top quality as it is produced from selected olive varieties rich in organoleptic elements, while it is also characterized by a unique taste that can be fruity, spicy, rich-flavored, that can highlight any plate .
PDO-PGI wine, the nectar of the Cretan land. One of the most favorite products of our daily diet, which accompanies every meal, offering us great delight. Red, rosé, white, dry or not, the wine produced directly from the top quality European vineyards, offers you a real wine tasting experience, rich in flavors, aromas and acidities.
Continuing in the European gastronomic treasures, we have to include the Cretan PDO cheeses and the Kritiko Paximadi PGI (Rusks), two products produced from superior quality raw materials. These products in combination with the know-how of the local people acquire their rich taste, which characterizes the cheese tradition and cuisine of the Cretan region.
Bulgaria, another European region, stands out for its organic honey production, the most natural sweetener produced without any use of chemicals, directly coming from bees, and is very rich in nutrients and vitamins, giving our body all the necessary energy for a demanding day.
Let us not forget that the most delicious breakfast of people has always been the Kritiko Paximadi PGI (Rusks), drizzled with PDO extra virgin olive oil, accompanied on the side by slices of PDO cheese, along with organic honey and a glass of, rich in flavors and aromas, PDO-PGI wine.
